In 1956, Alpha Phi was one of the first women's fraternities to establish a Foundation.
Demonstrating the philanthropic spirit of love and charity intended by our Founders, the Foundation was created as a trust to award grants specifically for scholarship and cardiac aid. Today, the original priorities of Alpha Phi Foundation remain the same.
Advancing women's lives through the power of philanthropy.
The Theta Lambda chapter at Central Missouri hosts our version of Alpha Phi 's Red Dress Gala signature event, which includes a silent auction fundraiser each spring. It is an opportunity for friends and family members to come see what Alpha Phi is all about. All the money raised is then donated to the Alpha Phi Foundation and the American Heart Association to raise money for women's heart health. The 2017 Red Dress Gala
was be held on February 18 where we raised $4384.01.
In the fall we team up with the Johnson County American Heart Association for the Annual Heart Walk held on the UCM campus. The 2016 Johnson County Heart Walk was held on October 1, 2016. We loved participating and volunteering! It was tons of fun for our members and full of sisterhood memories to share for years to come!
What is Heart Walk?
The Heart Walk is the American Heart Association's premiere event for raising funds to save lives from this country's No. 1 and No. 5 killers - heart disease and stroke. Designed to promote physical activity and heart-healthy living, the Heart Walk creates an environment that's fun and rewarding for the entire family. This year our annual Heart Walk was held on October 1, 2016. For more information about the Johnson County Heart Walk click here.
Service & Philanthropy are cornerstones of our organization that we hold close to our heart.
