New Year, New Start 2012

Welcome back to school Alpha Phi! Hope everyone’s breaks were fantastic and everyone is ready for a great and successful semester! Hopefully everyone is getting ready for the Red Dress Gala on February eleventh, lets try to make this a wonderful event for all our family and friends.  Spring recruitment is this week and the schedule is as follows: Wednesday information night in the union ballroom from 8-9:15, Thursday we will be tie dying in the front room at 6, and Saturday we will be having dinner and a movie.

Here is a quick look ahead at the Alpha Phi’s semester.  We will be having spring recruitment with initiation soon afterwards.  Our major event, the Red Dress Gala, is coming up fast and also the Cardiac Care Event.  Later in the semester we will be participating in Greek Week so we are all very excited about that! Hope all our Aphi’s are excited for our spring semester because it will be a very exciting time for all!

Recruitment 2011

We are all very excited this week because tonight was the start of sorority recruitment at the University of Central Missouri! Wednesday is the next Information nights where the women going through recruitment will get to tour through Panhellenic Hall and learn about each sorority. Friday afternoon at 4pm is the start of recruitment with Philanthropy Night. Chapter Day is Saturday at 12:30pm and Preference Day is Sunday at 12:30pm. Concluding the week of recruitment is Bid Day on Monday at 4pm. Good luck to the women going through! Go Greek!

Summer Update 2011

School is just around the corner, and it’s been a couple of weeks since the Theta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi had their summer meeting. Since it’s been a while since the last post, it’s time for an update! We had quite a packed semester this past spring! We raised $4,100 for the Alpha Phi Foundation at our Red Dress Gala in January. We had two initiations this semester as well, with a spring bid class totaling to 12 new members. We also had a variety of sisterhoods and socials, including the revenge of the nerds social with the Alpha chapter of Sigma Tau Gamma along with a pottery painting sisterhood in Kansas City!

Greek Week 2011 was a big success for this chapter! We received many awards, including second in dodgeball and tug, all of which are listed under the Honors tab. We were awarded the spirit award twice during Greek Week, once for one night and then again for overall spirit during Greek Week. We were also awarded the coveted 5 Star Award!

Our chapter worked really hard this year and we had quite the semester! We all look forward to formal recruitment in the fall along with homecoming with the men of Delta Chi. We’re also really excited to be celebrating Alpha Phi’s Founder’s Day this fall along with Theta Lambda’s 20th year on campus!

Spring Recruitment 2011

Tonight and tomorrow night, the ladies of the Theta Lambda chapter of Alpha Phi will be hosting Spring Recruitment events. Tonight’s event is at 9pm in their front room at Panhellenic. The theme is The Sweet Life of an Alpha Phi and there will be cookie decorating and games which will be lots of fun! Tomorrow night’s party is at 6pm, also in their front room of Panhellenic. The theme for the night is The Fabulous Life of an Alpha Phi. They will be playing Scene It and watching a cute video!

Fall 2010 Semester Wrap Up

This fall the ladies of the Theta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi participated in the 2010 Homecoming cheer competition at UCM with the men of the Theta Chi Fraternity. Alpha Phi’s own Katie Fisher reached the top 5 finalists for the Homecoming Queen candidates. Along with Homecoming, Alpha Phi and Theta Chi held a roller skating social together. The ladies of Alpha Phi also had a barbeque and slip-n-slide social with the men of Sigma Tau Gamma. Around Halloween, the ladies had a pumpkin carving sisterhood as well as a barbeque and hayride. Concluding the semester, the Theta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi hosted a black and white date social on December 2nd. Also, Alpha Phi’s own Jenny Rabas received the AFA Award for Outstanding Alcohol/Drug Prevention Program at UCM.
