The sisters of Theta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi
Alpha Phis cherish life-long friendships rooted in kindness, love and respect for one another.
Alpha Phi supports those in need through service and philanthropy. We share a passion for helping one another and our surrounding communities.
Alpha Phis lead by example and strive for continuous, innovative improvement. Since her inception, Alpha Phi's founders encouraged one another to think, invent and improve.
Alpha Phis are members for a lifetime. We learn the value of loyalty and being true to each other and to our common ideals.
Alpha Phi values each member's passion for education, knowledge, and achievement. Our founders were ten of the first twenty women admitted to Syracuse University in 1872 and they had the courage to persevere to earn a college education despite societal expectations at the time.
Living Our Values
On behalf of our sisters, welcome!
My name is Lynne O'Dell and I am currently serving as the Chapter President for the Theta Lambda Chapter here at the University of Central Missouri. I am extremely honored to lead such an outstanding group of women that I get to call my sisters. The women in our chapter are strong, intelligent, driven, and inspire me to the best that I can be. I truly never feel alone with these women by my side.
In Alpha Phi, we share a commitment to excellence and a strong desire to help one another. At the University of Central Missouri, the Theta Lambda chapter enhances and promotes each member’s development and learning by focusing on sisterhood, service, scholarship, leadership, loyalty, and character development. Alpha Phi is dedicated to giving back to the community and raising money for our philanthropy that helps change so many lives. Our chapter is full of leaders in countless organizations on campus and in our community. We strive for excellence in everything we do while still managing to have fun along the way, embodying what it truly means to be an Alpha Phi. The amazing thing about our chapter is that although we all come from different backgrounds, have contrasting majors and hometowns, we have become one through our sisterhood.
